Balancing the DISCUS 2 cT
Assemble the model completely, ready to fly, and support it at a point about 80 - 89
mm aft of the wing root leading edge on both sides of the fuselage. The model should
now balance level, ideally with the nose inclined slightly down. Make any adjustments
required by shifting the receiver battery, and / or install lead ballast in the nose; the
latter must be fixed to the fuselage permanently and immovably. Before flying the
model for the first time, check that all the control surfaces are exactly at centre
(neutral position) when the transmitter sticks and trims are at centre.
Control surface travels:
Ailerons 22 mm up 2 mm down
Elevator 6 mm up 6 mm down
Rudder 35 mm right 35 mm left
We suggest setting about 4 mm up-elevator trim to counteract the pitch trim change
when the airbrakes are deployed.
The stated travels are only a recommended starting point; you may well wish to
adjust them to suit your personal preference.
